Rustical house Raj - Jánska valley, Liptovský Ján village
Rustical house Raj (Eden) is in the Jánska valley by the village Liptovský Ján. The house is placed right into the embracement of the Low Tatra Mountains in Central Slovakia. It is the one of most beautiful valleys in the Liptov region, under the hills Marušová and Smrekovica (1285m). Liptovský Ján village is near Liptovský Mikuláš town, which is in the heart of the Liptov region and a gate to the Low Tatra Mountains - Chopok mountain (2024m), Jasná ski centrum, aquapark Tatralandia, Prosiecka valley (rocky gorge), Kvačianska valley (running old wooden mill), thermal park Bešeňová, and more, are other sites that are nearby. Some other local curiosities are the dam Liptovská Mara with a great lake; wells and baths in Liptovský Ján village; and the open public caves Demänovská ice-cave, "freedom-cave" and Stanišovská cave. There are also various cultural and historical memorable places such as the rustic original village of Vlkolínec, the rustic museum village Pribylina, and an archeological Celtic place at Havránok.
The High Tatra Mountains are less than one hour away by car. The Liptov region offers active and passive holiday programs, with many splendid attractive tourist places. Valley Jánska dolina is 15 kilometers long, at the northern side of the Low Tatra Mountains. The Štiavnica river has made many karst holes, abysses and caves in this valley. The village Liptovský Ján is placed at the end of Jánska valley, where you can start your various hikes and treks to reach many interesting places including the main crest of the Low Tatra Mountains and its highest peak, Ďumbier (2043m). Jánska valley is rich with plants and animals, and has many rocks and wells of mineral and warm water. Behind the village Liptovský Ján, there is 800m long ski-lift with two ski-slopes of different angles and distances within a 280m relative altitude. Nearby there is swimming pool under a roof with mineral water and a large summer open-air swimming pool.
Accommodation
Rustical house Raj offers private accommodation and 2-bed rooms in its comfortable apartments. There is an independent bathroom and kitchen, or kitchen corner, in every apartment with its own microwave oven, fridge, electric cooker, TV set and special health-designed beds everywhere. The house is completely built from massive wood with the original wooden roof, and a comfortable private balcony for every apartment upstairs.
Central heating is provided with modern heat pump, and there is an electronic fire alarm in each room. The ground floor contains a living room with fireplace, one 3-bed apartment and the owner’s flat. The second floor contains two 3-bed apartments and one 2-bed apartment with its own bathroom and kitchen corner. The top floor contains a romantic 2-bed suite (it has its own bathroom and kitchen too), one large and one small apartment. Each room has additional sleeping place possible.
Meals are not provided in the house. Several different restaurants are nearby down in the valley. Several supermarkets and large grocery stores are in town Liptovský Mikuláš, and there is a nice pedestrian zone. The village Liptovský Ján has its own intersection at the northern highway D2. The roads to rustical house Raj are cleaned from snow coverage in winter and fully illuminated at night. The house is placed at the very end of a residential area in valley. Motor cars are not allowed to go inside the valley, which is a natural preserved area with rules provided to visitors. The village altitude is over 700m. The valley is exactly north-south directed, summer temperature 20-25 Celsius, winter temperatures get down to minus 10-20 Celsius. The fresh mountain air is enhanced by the smells from the meadows and pine-wood. Smoking and pets are not allowed in the house.
